The forbidden is appealing perhaps because in it we “sense” the “reflections” of our “projected thoughts” regarding living our true self-”the self”, thoughts that are untempered by considerations of any external sanctions, even that of the constructed “self image”. The lure of the forbidden then is the lure of the true self-”the self”.
But why then that which appears to be emitting images of our true self-”the self” is deemed forbidden?
Perhaps forbidding and resultant non constancy of appearance of the images of “the self” sustains and enhances the interest in and meaningfulness of people, objects and ideas, thus “suggesting” purposes for life. The “forbidding” thus seems to be a construction for making life purposeful.

Through people/objects/ideas that we compulsively court/acquire/espouse we are perhaps trying to fulfill ’some’ deeply felt ‘unattained’ deprivations of our remote/forgotten past, the past moment when we felt deeply vulnerable; thus trying to kind of quench the visceral thirst which remains insatiable–an attempt at compensation.
We perhaps project onto them and imbue them with forbidden (by self) meanings and they thus are essentially surrogates.
The choice of people/objects/ideas is perhaps influenced by the fleeting images of the contextual imprinting moments.
But why were the deprivations felt ‘deeply’ in the first place? Perhaps because they are the deprivations of the ‘basic instincts’ of a person’s individuality– his self.

Perhaps, an inability to grasp the complex leads to decline of peoples. The “faculty of grasping the complex” perhaps get muted because of seduction of (pleasure principle) ease of attributing to singular causes, which is reinforced through rituals/drills; and then perhaps becomes almost a reflex leading to inertia in peoples.
Cultivating a habit of deciphering nuances might regenerate and evolve the “faculty of grasping the complex”.

Why does humanity have the mental/feeling frame of reference “We-They” and not “We-All”?

How is the Self Created?????????????
If homo sapiens have an instinct to thrive, then the Self- “that Original Feeling,” gives human beings flexibility of taking self identity positions in accordance with prevailing state of environment……………Perhaps then it is the IMPRINTING MOMENT OF CONCIOUSNESS that freezes “the Original Feeling”- The Self…………….

What is Mind?
What are thoughts? (Nature); How do thoughts arise? (Cause); Why do they come to us? (Purpose)
Perhaps mind is the organization thoughts………including the thoughts which direct other thoughts……..pattern of thinking
AND perhaps thoughts are generated by the” Will” of the “Self”. Why should the “Self”…………the “Identity”……….the “Original Feeling” do so?………..
Is it the “nature” of the Self to “Will” the thoughts in its image????……..If so then perhaps the thoughts give the Self some sort of positive reinforcement about itself………….a self sustaining mechanism of the Self………..Thus perhaps the “Thoughts” and the “Self” are in a reciprocal relationship……….??????????? In that case the Thoughts are the “Vectors” which “mirror” the image of the “Self” for the “Self”…………..But thoughts also get distracted/affected/influenced by the environment in which the Self operates…………and hence the stress/shear due to non congruence between the “original feeling identity-the Self”–reinforced by the thoughts willed by the Self and the image of The Self reflected to it by the environment………… Thoughts then are the building blocks of the image of the SELF for self sustenance of the Self……………

Perhaps that (wrt the post “MIND” of 25/12/09) which controls thoughts could be called the WILL of an individual. But where does it reside and what is its nature? If it controls thoughts then it is taking a decision………..is it a thought then…..a case of cognitions controlling cognitions……..do cognition types have a hierarchy then like Maslow’s hierarchy?
Could we call that controlling power “The Will” of an individual? But how and why does the will arise… May be the will arises out of self identity……….that deep seated feeling about who one is. So thoughts are controlled by thoughts called the will which in turn is formed by the self which is a feeling. Where does that feeling come from? Perhaps it exists…apriori
